The 18th Annual Basketball on the Bayou is proud to announce that it will be hosted in the Downtown New Orleans Convention Center. Last year we hosted over 250 teams and 500 college coaches/scouts in the beautiful downtown New Orleans at the Morial Convention Center. This year we will do it all over again under one roof for 3 days from Thursday, July 23rd – Saturday, July 25th.
Basketball on the Bayou is one of the few events that historically brings together the nation’s elite programs from the Nike, Adidas, Under Armor, Mike White, PBR, Independent circuits. Our alumni list includes current prep stars: Kalani Brown, Tierra McCowan, Kaila Charles, LaShann Higgs, Chennedy Carter, Jordan Nixon, Asia Durr, Lauren Cox, Rennia Davis, DiDi Richards, Zaay Green, Juicy Landrum, as well as some former great prep stars now Collegiate or Pro stars: Aja Wilson, Brittany Griner, Maya Moore, Alaina Coates, Odyssey Sims, Kelsey Bone, Moriah Jefferson, Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis, Tiffany Hayes, Erica Wheeler just to name a few.

WHO: GIRLS teams in the 12U through 11th Grade divisions from across the North American continent. Teams will be accepted on a “first-come, first-served” basis until maximum capacity is reached.

As one of the most storied and respected grassroots basketball events in the nation, the GymRat CHALLENGE has been selected as USA Basketball Alliance Tournaments and part of the pathway to the 2019 U.S. Open Basketball Championships.
USA BASKETBALL is the National Governing Body for Men’s and Women’s Basketball in the United States as recognized and designated by the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). USA Basketball is responsible for the selection and training of the men’s and women’s national teams that represent the United States in international competitions including the Olympic Games and the FIBA Basketball World Cup. In addition, USA BASKETBALL is responsible for the development of youth basketball initiatives that address player development, coach education and licensing, and safety.
