Carlos Silver / Girls Coach

Carlos Silver is the Director of the Girls program and also a member of our coaching staff for Team Providence Athletics. He currently works for the Family and Juvenile Drug Court in Providence, RI as the Deputy Director for the Diversion Program. He also served in the United States Navy from 1993-2000. He currently facilitates a mentoring group for kids involved with the Rhode Island Family Court between the ages of 13-17.

Walter “Bunky” Gonzalez / Girls Coach

Walter Gonzalez is currently the head coach for the 10th grade girls team. Over the last few years with TPA,  he has coached the 7th, 8th, 9th and current 10th grade girls National Team. Walter also provides individual instruction and camp workouts to athletes from Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He coached the 1st team for Team Providence to attend a National Tournament. His past coaching experience included Head coach for Woodlawn Catholic Regional High School, who won two league championships and Charles E. Shea High School. Walter is a graduate from Shea High School and attended Eastern Connecticut State University, where he was Little East Defensive player of the year and voted to Little East 1st Team All Division as a Sophomore. Walter believes in hard work and dedication to the game. He states: "Nothing is handed to you. You must earn it by putting in the time and sweat. My passion for the game and the kids, speaks for itself. We at Team Providence Athletics, take pride in FUNDAMENTALS and building solid players." He has a three daughters, two that play for Team Providence and one that cheers for her sisters at every game.


Trent Forbes / Girls Coach

Trent has been with Team Providence Athletics for a couple years. He is currently the head coach for the 6th & 8th AAU grade girls teams.  Trent works for the Boston School Department, lives in Pawtucket, RI with his wife and daughters, Tatum and Tyla, who both play on his teams.  Trent grew up in Roxbury, MA and graduated from Providence College in 1993.

Coach Rich / Girls Coach

Rich joined Team Providence in 2018 and is currently the head coach for the  AAU 5th grade girls team. He is also an assistant coach for the Varsity Boys team at Milton Academy. Rich works in IT and lives in North Attleboro, MA with his wife and children - Alannah, Skylar and Brayden. Rich grew up in Randolph, MA and graduated from Evangel University in Missouri in 2006.

Coach Liv / Girls Coach

Liv Canning enters her first season as an AAU Coach in 2020. After four years of starting for the Oberlin College Yeowomen, Canning graduated in 2019 with two NCAC Defensive Player of the Year Awards, three all-conference selections, 1000 points, and two broken school records for both blocks per season (103) and shooting percentage (60.7). She also led the team to their first league championship in school history in 2018. She is defense focused and team-oriented in her coaching style. Canning is excited to join Team Providence as she continues on her career path as a research assistant at Rhode Island Hospital with hopes of completing her PhD. in Clinical Psychology.

Coach Sarah / Girls Coach

Coach Sarah played 3 years at Manhattanville College. During her junior year she finished the season leading her team in points, three pointers made, assists, and steals while leading the Skyline Conference in free throw percentage and three point percentage. Sarah became the programs 17th 1,000-pt scorer & set a single game record against Merchant Marine scoring the most points in a single game being her career high 45 points. She was a four- year varsity basketball player at Cranston High School East, a career 1,200 point scorer. a three-time All-Class selection, named All-Division and All-State by Providence Journal as a senior. Sarah was also named Athlete of the Year by Cranston Herald in 2016.

Coach Antonia / Girls Coach

Antonia played for Team Providence in 7th grade through 11th grade for coach Walter and finished her AAU career with Coach Carlos in her Senior year of high school. During her time as a player of the Team Providence AAU organization, she was part of the 8th grade nationals team that took place in Disney World. She received many accolades as she progressed in her abilities with in the program, including being a 4x First Team All Gym Rat team member.

While being a member of the Team Providence organization, Antonia played varsity basketball at St. Mary Academy - BayView all four years of her high school career. She was a 2x RIIL Honorable Mention All State, RIIL First Team All Division senior year, and RIIL Second Team All State her senior year as well.

On top of being a very decorated basketball player, Antonia has experience of being a coach at a multitude of basketball camps. Antonia is now in her third year of being a collegiate basketball athlete at Rhode Island College where she and her team captured the Little East Conference Championship her Sophomore year.

Coach Jordyn / Girls Coach

Jordyn is a 2016 graduate of BMC Durfee High School where she held a decorated athletic career. Lettering four years of varsity basketball and varsity soccer. She was a 5x Big Three Conference All Star, 4x Herald News All Star, 2x MVP and 3x Captain. She wrapped up her senior year of high school named Female Athlete of the Year and a Dave Cowens Award Nominee.

After high school Jordyn was a 2021 Rhode Island College graduate with a bachelors in Youth Development, minor in coaching and a certification in non-profit studies. There she played four years of college basketball, making the All-Rookie Team her freshman year. In the followings years she was selected 2x Second Team All Conference and 3x Captain. She spent two years as a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and was selected after her senior year for the NEWBA Senior Classic.

During her college years she was involved with AAU programs such as South-coast Heat, MA Illusions and RI Knights. Aside from AAU, Jordyn assisted a season with Chris Corsinetti for the Nicholas A Ferri Boys Middle School Basketball team and she has provided individual workouts to aspiring athletes and worked several camps and clinics for youth basketball.
